Anonymous asked: Are you still alive?

Barely, as was mentioned in previous posts I’ve been very busy. I’m currently jobless and searching and have a lot on my plate. Development hopefully can resume soon.

Anonymous asked: can u make it so i dont need installer

Being that this will be a visual only package no installer is required.

Anonymous asked: I have a suggestion for the armor you could do like more primitive armor for a replacement of leather and work you way up
so like...
leather = sports equipement
iron = maybe some medieval or police grade armor
gold = a assortment of random stuff you could throw together maybe a metal sheet for chest and a pot as a helmet
diamond = swat or army grade armor

That’s an interesting suggestion, and I’m considering a lot of possibilities for armour. Thanks for the feedback =)

Some Time

It’s been some time sisnce the last blog update guys, sorry I haven’t been keeping in touch as much as I most definitely should be.

I’m in the middle of attempting a move, and still trying to work as much as I can to get some more money flowing into that effort, so things will remain slow for a little bit here guys.

On the Zombiecraft subject I have been working on a little bit of new art, though nothing is even close to the stage where I can release it to you guys yet, sorry to say. I know those few following are likely anxious for an update.

However I can say comfortably that the skin is now compatible with Beta V1.2_02, so we are staying on top of Notch’s updates. I’m currently looking into changing the popup text with items so that when you hover your mouse over a Crowbar it says ‘Crowbar’ instead of ‘Iron Sword’.

I may also be adding/changing some recipes, so it looks as though we may be stepping into the modification domain. My plan is to release a texture pack functional with the default Minecraft, and then a mod set that has all the modified textures alongside any changes I’ve made, so that there is a mod free and a modded version, to suit every taste.

I’m hoping to pump out some updates soon, but time will tell. Wish me luck and don’t forget to follow and support us guys!

rockhaven202 asked: Long time, how's it coming?

Has been awhile. Work and trying to find work have held progress back rather drastically. It’s still in the pipes, it just needs time. :)

spasticorientation asked: Any chance of a small teaser pack being released?
just some items or the UI or maybe even the new mob skins?
It would be nice to have some gas thrown onto the flame, thats all.

I actually like this idea. I just want to do a few finishing touches, and then I will release the weapons/tools to the public as a teaser package. Thanks for the idea!

rockhaven202 asked: When do you plan on releasing Zombiecraft?

It’s still a ways in the future. Lots of work needs to be done and it has to be done between work right now unfortunately.

Anonymous asked: Guns?

Possibly in a later version. However Version 1.0 will be a visual only modification.

Development: Day 17 - Door to Another World

Wow. Almost ten days ago was the last time I got my anxious fingers firing furiously (hoho! see what I did thar?) away at pecking out another new update full of whimsical information for everyone. (I should point out that ‘pecking’ was just a phrasing I chose, I don’t ‘hunt and peck’ so to speak. Just clarifying.) However todays update unfortunately isn’t some massive completion set wherein I will announce that the pack is ready to go and can be downloaded here. It can’t be. Hopefully that silly little comic made your day a little cheerier though!

Well now that all the prattling small talk is out of the way, I figure it’s time we get down to business. Todays update may not be huge, but it is at this point in development the most difficult artistic aspect that I have had to conquer. Admittedly I was not able to do this on my own. The update today is the doors, which can be sampled and seen here, Wooden door on the left, Iron door on the right.

The door on the left is fully my doing. I drew the doors layout, boards, windows and etc by hand. Then converted the concept art into pixel art and mashed it down to the 16x32 pixels required. The door on the right however, was thanks in full to the assistance of a friend, who drew the door which I then gave transparencies where appropriate, and applied some filtering to make it a little more detailed.

That is everything for todays update unfortunately folks. If you want to show your support for us, don’t forget you can contribute a donation using the button up at the top, offer artistic work, advice, feedback, comments, or join into the discussions on our official Minecraft Forums topic!

Thanks for stopping by guys, remember to follow the blog if your interested in the progressing development!

Answering Some Questions! Session #1

Hey guys, so I’ve received a lot of questions, and I answered each of them but it resulted in seven new blog posts. So I’ve decided it’s better for space and convenience to read, that I compress them into this single Q&A for you.

So for this round of questions, I’ll just be copy-pasting user submitted questions, with a little reader-friendly touch up (ie spelling, grammar)

A user tibow asks two questions;

#1: Hey, when you’re done can you release the download link for the texture pack?
#2: How can I make a skin, like change the weapons etc.?

Well Tibow, a few answers here. Firstly the download link will definitely be releasing once everything is finished. If you’d like to keep track of things, be sure to follow this dev blog as it receives every update on priority! As for making your own texture packs, that’s pretty easy. There are lots of tutorials around the web, and a quick google search or youtube query for something like ‘how to change minecraft textures’ will yield you heaps of helpful results!

Now for the anonymous questions. There were plenty of these! (Numbering will continue from Tibow’s)

#3 Hi, I was wondering. Will the Minecarts/Boats be changed at all?
This pack will have an entire reskin, so nothing will have the same textures it does now. It will all eventually be replaced by original art.

#4 How’s the progress coming? I’m really really looking forward to the release.
Things are coming along nicely, we’ll keep you updated on the dev blog, but release is still a bit off in the future. Follow the blog if you want to keep up to date!

#5 Download?
There’s no download available yet, we don’t even have an internal alpha running! I’m the only one with a working copy at the moment, sorry. Keep in touch though, I’d be happy to share the download when it’s ready!

#6 Are you still working on this because it looks pretty damned good ^_^
Absolutely Anon! Progress is still along, currently the project is making up the doors, which has been more than expected, it’s a big bought of work to get them just right!

Now this here was less of a question and more of a statement, but we appreciate your input still!

Love the idea, if you changed the world to generate “Town” sections with random buildings that were damaged from the apocalypse, you could repair the buildings and make them your home! Keep on going, you can never have too much zombie!
As of current this project is a visual change only. However the release of Zombiecraft 2.0 will intend gameplay changes as well, and random world generation alterations may be part of that! 1.0, the current in works release however is as I stated, strictly aesthetic. :)

Thank you all for your questions and feedback, it is greatly appreciated! We hope anyone interested will follow our blog as well. You can also follow our twitter @zombie_craft
